About the Artist & Artwork
Russian painter Viktor Alexeevich Bobrov (1842–1918) was a master of late 19th-century academic art, highly celebrated for his expressive watercolor portraits and detailed etchings. A graduate of the Imperial Academy of Arts, Bobrov excelled at rendering the delicate textures of fabric, skin, and fine ornamentation, capturing his subjects with profound psychological depth and refined elegance.
