Anton Raphael Mengs was a dominant force in the 18th-century art world, serving as the leading painter of the Neoclassical movement. He famously painted the allegorical representation of Time and Truth as a fresco within the Camera dei Papiri at the Vatican Library in Rome during the 1770s.
